96 Points - James Halliday
Opaque purple-red. Amazing colour. Dense, ripe black fruit, a faint sauvage note and spice. Concentrated and controlled with a web of green apple acidity and fine tannin. Whatever oak it has seen, it has just sucked it up. Big, fresh, maybe brutal, but so well done. Amazing durif.

M. Chapoutier La Sizeranne Hermitage 2011 shared with Eva over a beef stew. I remember first tasting an earlier vintage of this wine in about 2001, and it was a funky, tight, Northern Rhone cracker then, and still is now.
